3 Strategies to Make Money 4x Faster as a Coach or Consultant

As a coach or consultant, making money is a high priority. Learning how to make money 4x faster as a coach or consultant, can be a game-changer. If you have been wondering what the secret is to making money a lot faster, incorporate any of the 3 strategies described below into your business to catapult your income level to six or even 7-figures. 

Strategy #1 Raise Your Prices

Strategy number one to making money four times faster in your coaching or consulting business is to raise your prices. This seems like an obvious answer and it is, but so many coaches and consultants undervalue what they do and severly undercharge. This holds them back from reaching their financial goals for years. This is true even for my coaches and consultants who are already selling high-end packages.

They are still not charging enough. Oftentimes these coaches or consultants have decades of experience whether they are translating that experience from the corporate world or whether they are established entrepreneurs who have created massive results for their clients. Yet, they never bothered to raise their prices. This is usually for a number of reasons. First, there’s a lack of awareness in general of what the market is willing to pay.

And once their eyes are opened to their income potential and the awareness that they are seriously undercharging, it’s a no-brainer to raise their prices. The other reason that comes into play is an internal reason. There may be some measure of imposter syndrome, not feeling like they know enough, or not feeling like they are worthy of receiving a lot more money for their time. I’ve seen this over and over with my clients including people who held c-suite positions in prestigious organizations.

Once we solve the awareness part and there’s an understanding by that person that they could charge a lot more, I can help them put together a strategy to articulate their value and position themselves as an expert. It then becomes easy for them to confidently raise their prices and charge a lot more. 

For example, my client Maureen, a leadership development expert and a management consultant worked for major corporations as a consultant and as a coach. Yet, when she shared her pricing with me, I told her she could easily charge double. In just 6 weeks of joining my program, she doubled her prices and closed a $180,000 deal.

We worked together to raise her confidence, nail her pitch and proposal, and worked on everything else that comes with charging a lot more money before she raised her prices. However, the most beautiful thing about her success was that her clients didn’t “blink an eye” when she pitched the new price. She could have charged even more and will definitely increase her prices again in the future.

Imagine making double your income and working the same amount of time? When you do this with multiple clients, you can see how quickly you can increase your income. You will quickly catapult yourself into next level revenue. Once my clients, who had been undercharging for their services, finally raise their prices, the only thing they say is, “I wish I had done this sooner.”

Strategy #2 Sell Ultra High-Ticket Services

The second strategy you need to make money 4x faster is to switch to selling ultra high-ticket services. This particular strategy is especially important for coaches and consultants who are still pushing a low-ticket model. An example of a low-ticket model is billing by the hour for $100 or $200, essentially trading time for dollars. This is also for coaches and consultants who offer lower ticket programs for a few thousand dollars when they could be $50,000 or $100,000 or more.

Pushing courses or a low-end membership model are also examples of a low-ticket model. If you are selling low-ticket offers, you have created a business model that is based on volume. That means you’re going to need a lot more sales to hit your income goals than you would need if you switch to an ultra high-ticket coaching or consulting business model. Simple math will show you which model is superior.

If your goal is to make a half million dollars a year in your coaching or consulting business and you are billing by the hour, it will take more effort to reach your goal. If you’re selling a $5,000 program, you’re going to need to sell a hundred of them to hit your $500,000 goal. In order to convert 100 people into paying clients, you’re going to need a lot more leads. For that volume of leads you will most likely have to spend money to acquire them. With an ultra high-ticket coaching or consulting model you can eliminate that. In fact, many of my clients are able to land six-figure clients without spending any money on ads.

My client Chuck is a healthcare consultant who prior to working with me was earning about $55,000 a year in his side hustle. He was employed full-time when he hired me and his goal was to leave his job to get out of the rat race and have a business that was centered around time freedom where he could make a lot more money. I helped Chuck codify his genius and put together his ultra high-ticket consulting offer.

Four months into working together, he sold a $180,000 consulting package and a $120,000 consulting package and that was without spending a dime on advertising. Imagine trying to make that volume of sales with a low-ticket model? I have created so many videos on why high-ticket is a better business model for coaches and consultants.

Strategy #3 Scale with an Ultra High-Ticket Group

The final strategy to making money 4x faster as a coach or consultant is to scale your business with an ultra high-ticket group or one-to-many model. Even if you have an ultra high-ticket private coaching offer, you’re going to hit a limit on how many clients you can serve. When I hear someone say they have a full coaching practice of 30-40 clients, I know they are exhausted, their business is not scalable, and their client’s results are not going to be the best they could be.

There are elements of private coaching that are really powerful, but you’re also missing the community aspect, the shared learning experience, and the group accountability  that comes with a high-ticket group program. I could go on about the power of a group model for coaching not only for scalability but for a more well-rounded and impactful approach for your clients.

Some people push back because they can’t imagine why anyone would pay ultra high-ticket prices for a group coaching mode, but it is possible and it all comes down to how you build it. This is a much more sophisticated strategy and one that requires the right offer coupled with the right client delivery experience. If you want to scale your business, it is the best solution. 

My client Michele is a great example of this. When she came to me she already had a group program but it wasn’t an ultra high-ticket offer. In fact, she was charging a few thousand dollars per year.
