The first component of building your credibility online is being C, consistent with your content. If content is king, consistency is queen.  One thing that all the highest paid experts in the world have in common, is they all put out a TON of content. 

Therefore, in order to increase your credibility and be perceived as an expert, you need to show people over and over again that you are one. As a part of your brand positioning strategy, it’s important to create high-quality content that you consistently share. 

It can be any type of content,Blog posts, LinkedIn content Instagram content, ive streams on YouTube, you name it. Too many coaches and consultants get hung up on trying to pick the right platform or social media site. 

In actuality, the method you use doesn’t matter as much as the consistency. Especially if you want to have a strong brand reputation and build a 7-figure coaching and consulting business. 

When you’re just starting out, you might be thinking to yourself, “What’s the point of this? I don’t have much engagement. No one is paying attention to me.” It doesn’t matter. Do it anyway. 

In today’s digital marketing world, attention is key. You literally have thousands of other competitors showing up every day and vying for the attention of your dream clients. So create content as though thousands of people are going to see it.

Another key to increasing your online credibility as a coach and consultant is to get interviewed. Interviews are a great strategy to create online credibility for several reasons. First, you get to educate your existing audience in a natural way when you share your interview. Second, you access to get to someone else’s audience to attract potential new clients to your business. 

Another benefit is that when people Google your name, your live interviews will pop up and lead people back to you via down links to credible resources, such as Apple podcasts.   

Take myself for example. When I first started my coaching business, every week I would see people in my newsfeed saying, “Hey, I have a podcast and I’m looking for a guest.” I decided to ‘virtually’ raise my hand and say yes. 

The results were incredible. To date, I’ve done hundreds over 100 podcast interviews over the last several years. Plus, I generate six figures a year from my podcast interviews alone. In addition,one of my best clients found me from a podcast. That’s how POWERFUL interviewing can be for coaches and consultants. 

Blogging to Build Credibility Online

Blogging enables you to appear on search engines, which in turn builds your online credibility in the eyes of your dream clients.

Another opportunity to increase your online credibility is blogging. Blogging is huge because when most people are trying to solve a problem, they don’t go to Facebook or LinkedIn or any social media platform. 

Where do they go? They go to Google and they type in, “How do I make more money doing X”. When you blog about this problem, either in writing or recording video content about it on YouTube, guess what will happen? You will show up in the search engine results, and they will see you and your products/services as the answer to their problems. Literally. 

Do this over and over again, and soon people will associate you as the person with the answers. This is exactly how you want your ideal client to see you in order to start closing high-ticket offers.

For example, if you are a dating coach, there is a huge opportunity to align yourself with influential podcasters who talk about their personal dating horror stories. While they are not your direct competitors, your audiences intersect, which is something you can leverage to your advantage.   

Plus, so long as you can find that need in the market and fill it, you’ll grow the bottom line of your coaching and consulting business much more quickly.  

Unlocking influencers requires building the right relationships. Take the time to connect with influencers and become a part of their world. Join their masterminds, get coached by them, join their groups and add value. Give them the opportunity to get to know you. Once they do let them know you can help their audience too. 

Testimonials are the Fastest Way to Build Credibility Online

Testimonial is an official statement from an employee that explains what they like about their job or company, what it's like to work there.

The C.R.E.D.I.B.I.L.I.T.Y formula would be incomplete without mentioning testimonials. Testimonials play a crucial role in helping you build a 7-figure coaching and consulting business through high-ticket offers. They offer physical proof that you know what you’re doing and can help people just like your ideal client. 

If you don’t have testimonials, go out there and get them. Even if that means helping people for free in the beginning. I like to look at Russell Brunson as an example. He was an already successful entrepreneur when he approached Tony Robbins. He offered to build his funnels for free because he knew it would create an epic case study. 

Guess what? It did. Now Tony Robbins is his client and together, they have both made a ton of money leveraging each other’s audiences. 

And, if you already have testimonials, don’t be shy, share them! This is how you can massively boost your credibility online! Show your audience that you don’t just put out great content, but you’ve gotten results for your clients.

You Get What You Give

Expect to give as much as or more than you get in order to accelerate your credibility online.

Lastly, I truly believe in the law of reciprocity. This says that when someone does something nice for you, you’ll have a psychological urge to do something nice in return.  

If you hoard all your best stuff and only give if someone pays for it, you set yourself up for failure. But if you give just for the sake of giving, people are going to reward you. 

They will share your content, comment on your posts, tag other people, introduce you to potential clients and of course, some will become your paying clients. 

Think about it, if someone consistently shows up and gives you value without asking anything in return, who are you going to buy from when you need help solving a problem? The guy/girl in your newsfeed constantly pitching their services or the one who put out compelling content, educated and trained you absolutely for free?
